Green Credentials
The Lucida sets a new standard for modern green living, as the Upper East Side's first LEED-certified condominium building.
Rapidly renewable materials such as bamboo, cork and palm wood will be used throughout the lobby and amenities spaces, with sustainably harvested wood in all apartments. In addition, many local and recycled materials will be used in the overall construction.
The Lucida is located directly on a mass transit line, and will feature a bicycle storage facility to encourage a car-free transportation. Light colored roofing materials and areas of a planted roof will reduce the "heat island effect".
The Lucida's building envelope and mechanical systems are designed for optimimum energy performance. Filtered outside air will be delivered to each apartment and indoor materials that emit common pollutants will be avoided. The water-efficient landscaping will be irrigated only with rainwater.
The Lucida has gone beyond the standard measurements of urban redevelopment.
