Company Description
Mixson is a neighborhood of the historic Park Circle area of North Charleston, South Carolina. Mixson is designed around a collection of intimate, urbane streets and lanes, public parks and courtyards, and historic oak trees. It includes a variety of residences, shops, restaurants and cafes, offices, places of worship and other civic gathering spots. Inspired by the historic streets of downtown Charleston and older cities throughout the world, Mixson features winding cobblestone streets, residences connected by archways and intimate parks and plazas.
Every building in Mixson is built to last, using the latest green technologies and materials that will age gracefully over time. Homes are characterized by efficient, open floorplans with ample natural light.
Historic Park Circle was built in the 1920s during the great period of town planning in the United States. Its numerous parks, and inviting Old Village main street offer places to gather, stroll, dine, and shop.

Below is a list of construction techniques and products that we are using that will help us meet LEED certification and are also of interest to the homeowners:
* Average toilet flow rate is less than 1.3 gallons per flush
* Every home will be an Energy Star home
* Tankless water heaters
* Puron in HVAC units, which minimizes ozone depletion and global warming contributions
* Advanced framing techniques that minimize lumber waste
* Environmentally preferable products are being using in the exterior wall framing (all homes except the 2 wood framed homes).
* Energy Star labeled bathroom exhaust fans installed
* 14-seer HVAC unit with room-by-room duct design calculations performed, ducts installed according to design calculations, and every room has adequate return air flow.
* Energy Star labeled programmable thermostats
* At least 3 Energy Star labeled light fixtures areare installed
* Energy Star labeled appliances are used.
