Company Description
Cromley Lofts is an 8 unit residential condominium located in Old Town Alexandria. The 1910 converted warehouse is just off historic King Street, its shops, pubs, parks, and metro. Cromley Lofts is the first LEED-certified condo in Virginia, earning a 'Gold' ranking by the United States Green Building Council.
The building has a long history in the city and was purchased in 2004 by Alexandria builder and developer William Cromley. He completed the restoration of the building in 2007, complete with a third story addition, to complete Cromley Lofts.
Green Credentials
The following is a partial list of the Green Building concepts, materials and techniques designed and built into the Cromley Lofts Condominiums:
-Project developed close to many public transportation options and bike storage area promotes alternative travel options.
-Project replaced asphalt alleys and gravel/tar roof with landscaped green space and a vegetated 'green roof' to reduce runoff and ambient air temperature.
-Plumbing fixtures designed to use 30% less water than conventional fixtures.
-Utilized salvaged, refurbished, or reused materials for building materials.
-Designed interior living spaces to maximize natural light and maintain a direct line of sight to outside from all interior spaces.
-Specified the use of "Energy Star" energy and water saving appliances for all units.
